[06-11-2023] Sacramento County, CA – 18-Year-Old Male Sustained Major Head Injury Following Hit-and-Run in Natomas

An 18-year-old man, Guntejpal S., sustained a major head injury after a hit-and-run collision in Natomas, Sacramento, on Sunday evening, June 11, 2023. According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident occurred on East Commerce Way and Ottumwa Drive sometime after midnight. Singh was riding his electric skateboard on East Commerce Way when he was struck by a vehicle. A good samaritan found Singh and called the authorities, saving his life. The victim was taken to UC Davis for treatment of a major head injury. The collision resulted in a fractured skull resulting in a subdural hematoma which required drainage of excess blood build-up in the cranial cavity. The family urges everyone to wear a helmet and to be always aware of their surroundings. No information is available on the vehicle that fled the scene.
